The Retired Dad is a play on words.
“I was tired yesterday. I am tired today. I am therefore Re-tired”.
Back in the BC days (before children) my family and I had an Irish pub in California. One of our regulars had a tshirt that said he was Re-tired. As I slowly make it through life being a single dad, I realize just how tired I really am.
It’s not the keeping up with the kids, it’s not the late nights with sick kids, it’s not the 24/7 go GO GO! attitude of my work, it’s the combination of all of that together.
